About Debashis

Dr Debashis Sarker is the Lead of Inclusive Education at CDS. For over a decade he has worked in various organisations across the world, effectively leading and managing a wide array of programs and projects. Prior to joining CDS, he worked as a Senior Manager at BRAC (one of the largest NGOs in the world) in Bangladesh; a Digital Finance Researcher at Finance in Motion-an Investment Management firm at Frankfurt, Germany; a Research Fellow at the University of Mons in Belgium; a Business Advisor at M-PAYG-a Denmark and Kenya based FinTech Company; a Consultant at Voconiq in Australia.

He had received several awards from Bangladesh, Belgium and Australian Government for his outstanding academic and professional work. Additionally, he has presented his research work at several prestigious universities including Harvard, ANU, UNSW, University of Geneva and University Libre de Brussels. He had also published multiple articles about people with intellectual disabilities in esteemed journals. Dr Sarker is a member of several influential global organisations and networks for disability research and advocacy. He is passionate to work for inclusive education and employment of people with intellectual disabilities.
