Person-centred planning and practice delivers positive outcomes to people with disability by being flexible and tailored to individual strengths and needs.
Providers that adopt person-centred planning and practice deliver supports that competently recognise and respond to needs and wishes of participants.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is underpinned by person-centred principles and approaches. The NT Quality and Safeguarding Framework recognises the importance of person-centred approaches that are essential for the safety, security and well-being of people with disability.
The Centre for Disability Studies will be delivering a series of workshops to providers to refine skills in and gain a deeper understanding of the values underpinning person-centred planning and practice.
