Relationships and Sexuality Workshop

This full day workshop will provide a brief introduction and opportunity to explore relationships and sexuality for people with disabilities.
What you will learn
The following topics will be covered:
- Social skills, relationships and sexuality from a human rights perspective
- Values
- Myths and assumptions
- Providing sex education
- Duty of care.
Participants will take from the session an overview of the above, a knowledge of where to access resources and supports. There will also be the opportunity to reflect on where to from here for their service, practice and the people they support.
Intended Audience
The course is targeted towards service providers, clinicians, case coordinators and educators, however, anyone with an interest in the area is welcome to attend.
About the Facilitators
Laura Hogan is an Occupational Therapist (Bachelor of Applied Science), she also holds a Masters of Health Science (Developmental Disability) and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Laura significant experience working with people with disability across the lifespan with a special interest in supporting adolescents and adults with complex support needs.
Sarah Wagstaff holds a B.A. (Psych)(Hons), M(Teach)(School Counselling) and is currently undertaking a Masters of Health Science (Developmental Disability). She has extensive experience supporting the behavioural needs of people with disability in various roles, including behavioural therapist, teacher, and school counsellor.
Cost: $265 pp inclusive of GST, includes full day workshop, training materials, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
