NDCO Resources

The South Australian National Disability Coordination Officers recently updated the transition and career planning resources in collaboration with key stakeholders from secondary schools, tertiary education and disability services. These resources include specific post school transition information for students with disability.

The resources include online accessible versions that meet the WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

Resource Overview

Transition Planning

This resource is intended as a tool for use in all school sectors to provide a collaborative and coordinated approach in initial planning for Transition to Post School Options for Students with Disabilities.

Planning for Success

This booklet is designed to help people identify their employment goals and to research the educational courses that relate to those goals including the entry requirements.

Disclosure Planning

This booklet provides a range of information about why, when and how to share information about disability in tertiary education, training and employment contexts. It provides a simple template to develop a personal plan and script to share information.

The Transition Planning, Planning for Success and Sharing Information resources are all designed as workbooks that enable students to record their planning and research answers. The resources also include prompts for planning accessibility requirements that students may need for tertiary study and subsequent employment.

Additional Resources

This publication outlines the legislation and services that support successful transitions, access and participation to tertiary education and subsequent employment for people with a disability.

What's the Difference? School vs VET vs Uni

This resource is designed to outline the different elements, expectations and differences between school, vocational education and training, and university.

Video Resources

The following videos were created by group of young people from a refugee background to raise awareness about education and employment for people with disability for the NDCO project: Communities Leading Change. The group called themselves: We are here for Change, they wrote the scripts and chose images to accompany their videos, which were filmed, edited and captioned by Farda TV.
