Greta Westermann

Greta originally trained as a theatre nurse in Germany where she gained great clinical knowledge and skills. While working in the healthcare sector, Greta was first noticed the large social and inequities many groups experience. She then decided to study a Bachelor of Public Health in Germany and followed up with a Master of Science in Health Education and Promotion. During these programs she learned about health systems, inequities in health, evidence-based intervention development and implementation. Greta is passionate about person-centered approaches to healthcare and social support and using evidence to develop interventions that work as a catalyst to overcoming inequities . She has worked in intervention development together with refugees in Germany and in evaluation of healthcare related projects in New Zealand.

In Greta’s position she provides research and administrative support for various projects. Her work involves writing project proposals, ethics applications, collecting and analysing data. Greta is also a part of the ‘Inclusive Research Network’ and ‘Social Networking Group’ at CDS.

Qualifications: 

MSc, BA
