About Frances

Frances Quan Farrant has worked across the disability sector in advocacy, policy and research for over two decades. She is a social scientist with a B.A from Macquarie University and graduate social worker (MSW) from QUT. She is a published co-author on disability policy and has been part of the disability civil society delegations to the United Nations on two occasions. Frances is currently the Manager of Strategic Impact at Disability Sports Australia; she is also a Director of Synapse Australia. Frances also sits on the Human Research Ethics Committee for QUT and for the independent research ethics agency, Iris Ethics.

Frances was born with vision impairment and acquired a physical impairment during childhood. She lives and works digitally from Kabi Kabi Country north of Brisbane, with her family, rescue dog and jungle garden.
