Evidence-based Practices Associated with Better Employment Outcomes for People with Intellectual Disability

$129.00Back by popular demand and with extended content, this workshop will provide a summary of the evidence-based considerations that can be implemented to support better employment outcomes for people with intellectual disability. It will cover topics such as person-centred assessment, models of workplace training, types of employment, work experience programs, on-the-job training considerations and individualized job development for people with intellectual disability. The workshop will also provide information around research informed considerations for staff training and technical assistance for the staff supporting the person with intellectual disability with their employment goals.
Facilitator
The sessions will be facilitated by Clinical Professor Vivienne Riches. Vivienne holds the title of Clinical Professor, Senior Research Fellow, Psychologist at the Centre for Disability Studies, Affiliate of the University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health. She conducts research, teaching, and clinical practice and is a Fellow of the Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability (FASID), and the inaugural recipient of the Lien Ling Chow visiting Professor in Education, National Institute in Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore 2022-23. Interests and expertise include intellectual and developmental disability, mental and emotional health and well-being, vocational training, transition and employment, ageing and dementia and staff development.
