Evidence-based Practices Associated with Better Employment Outcomes for People with Intellectual Disability

What is it?: This workshop will provide a summary of the evidence-based considerations that can be implemented to support better employment outcomes for people with intellectual disability. It will cover topics such as person-centred assessment, models of workplace training, types of employment, work experience programs, on-the-job training considerations and individualized job development for people with intellectual disability. The workshop will also provide information around research informed considerations for staff training and technical assistance for the staff supporting the person with intellectual disability with their employment goals.

 

Delivery: 2 hour class-based training (can be online or in-person)

 

Target audience: Workers supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.

 

Note: Delivery modes can be tailored to the specific needs of each organisation.
