Independent Living Villages

Project Summary

CDS worked with Independent Living Villages (ILV) to analyse their current resident engagement strategy and provide recommendations for improvement. CDS reviewed ILV’s policies and current levels of engagement, and conducted interviews with residents, support staff, ILV staff and ILV Board members. A final review was then prepared as CDS provided strategies and suggestions to improve resident engagement. The take away from this project was the importance of individualised approaches, as there was no one engagement strategy that accommodated the differing communication needs and preferences of residents.
