About Martin
Dr. Martin Riordan has established a career as a specialist in vocational and tertiary education management. Martin was recipient of an Australian Prime Minister’s Postgraduate Asia Australia Scholarship and completed his PhD at University of Melbourne reviewing business models, governance and sustainability of TAFEs registered in higher education.
He earlier undertook benchmark research on American Community College innovation business models under an Australian American Fulbright Scholarship. Martin was a past CEO of TAFE Directors Australia, the peak body for Australia’s TAFE Institutes and six universities with TAFE divisions and initiated a national TAFE regional manager network, and founded the national TAFE scholarship foundation. He has worked in the private and public sectors, after originally a political journalist in Canberra and Sydney.
