Positive Behaviour Support

What is it?: Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) has become the preferred intervention for people with intellectual disabilities who display challenging behaviours. This short workshop will provide an overview of PBS in the context of reducing behaviours and improving quality of life. Understanding the multi-components of PBS is important for anyone involved in the team around a person with an intellectual disability and challenging behaviours.

Delivery:  3 hour class-based training (can be online or in-person)

Target audience: Direct support workers and allied health professionals (who are not working as behaviour support practitioners but provide other interventions to people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours)

Note: Delivery modes can be tailored to the specific needs of each organisation.
