Relationships and Sexuality for People with Intellectual Disability
What is it?: This practical workshop will provide an introduction for workers supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to explore relationships and sexuality from a human rights perspective. Terminology, consent, supported decision-making, different types of relationships, communication, the role of supporters, trauma-informed practice and sex education are some of the topics covered. Participants will also be provided with information about a range of resources and where to access additional support.
Delivery: 2 x 3 hour or 1 x day class-based training (can be online or in-person)
Target audience: Workers supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
