Supporting the health and function of people with intellectual disability who are ageing or frail

What is it?: Many people with intellectual disability have signs of ageing and frailty at a younger age than others in the population.  In this workshop, participants will learn to recognise signs of ageing and frailty in people with intellectual disability and be aware of the associated health and functional outcomes.  They will also learn how to support people as they age to maintain their health and daily activities and therefore facilitate ageing in place.

Delivery: Designed to fit the specific needs of each organisation – can be 2hrs through to whole day class-based training (can be online or face-to-face).

Target audience: Disability support professionals and allied health clinicians

Note: Delivery modes can be tailored to the specific needs of each organisation.
