Recently, the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NIE, NTU, Singapore) established the Lien Ying Chow Professorship in Education. The first awardee is Clinical Professor Vivienne Riches who was offered the inaugural visiting professorship in Education for a period of one year from 1 January 2022.
This visiting professorship, funded by a generous donation from the Lien Foundation, aims to attract top minds to the University to contribute to the vision of gearing up the Singaporean education system for the future, starting with the development of Special and Inclusive Education programmes and research.
As part of the projects and events pertaining to the Lien Foundation donation and the visiting professorship, Vivienne will deliver a webinar in early May 2022 regarding inclusive practices for people with special needs. She will also participate in online faculty discussions and collaborations around possible research activities and projects. An onsite visit will occur in the second half of 2022.
