The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) is looking for an experienced program coordinator for our uni 2 beyond program. uni 2 beyond is an award-winning social inclusion initiative run by CDS which supports participants with intellectual disabilities to take part in university life as audit (non-enrolled) students at the University of Sydney. About the Role

  • Coordinate the day-to-day tasks associated with the operation of uni 2 beyond, with support and guidance, including promotion and recruitment of students; student support; recruitment and training of mentors; liaising with university staff, in particular, working with lecturing staff to support student learning, engagement, and relationships with peers
  • Organise and monitor student NDIS Service Agreements.
  • Organise appropriate invoicing and maintain NDIS compliance issues
  • Maintain uni 2 beyond social media pages and information on CDS website and promote inclusive practices of the University
  • Ensure continuous improvement and evaluation and develop a sustainability plan for the future of the programme
  • Support Disability Inclusion at the University of Sydney
  • Advocate for inclusive higher education for people with intellectual disability at state, national and international level

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Health, Social Science/Disability or equivalent
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in working and supporting people with intellectual disability
  • Experience working in community development and/or inclusion
  • Experience with project management and coordination
  • Experience of the higher education sector
